Genuine grenadine silk is produced exclusively in Como, on wooden shuttle looms dating back to the early 1900s. Twisted yarn dyed silk threads are woven in a loose, gauze weave, creating a unique sheer textured fabric that drapes beautifully.
Only two mills in Como make this specialty fabric, making the supplies quite coveted. A true grenadine silk tie is a refined addition to every gentleman's wardrobe.
Our grenadine silk ties are cut on the true bias, an essential feature to look for in a quality tie. We tip them with our signature pinstripe rep silk to result in a beautifully finished tie with some weight to help keep it from curling over time.
Tipping with pure silk rather than the typical synthetic (ie: polyester or acetate) fabric is a refined way to finish a tie. The extra expense to produce ties in this manner makes the tie longer lasting and more luxurious.
Our grenadine ties are produced exclusively by ethical, family-owned workshops in Como, Italy. We do not outsource the making of the ties to cut costs as we believe in supporting the artisans, seamstresses and tailors in Como, where the fabric is produced.
We skip the middlemen, which allows lovers of beautifully made grenadine neckties to own something of quality at remarkably reasonable prices.
